The teacher may ask what students know about engineers before introducing the activity. Also it would be he/she encourages girls to answer.
After a short talk the teacher will explain what is engineering and how many things they do.
As a final step, the activity will be introduced and the children will start working by groups or individually.
At the end of the class all structures will be shown and the teacher can also ask how they can use it in real life.
Changing children’s views on gender stereotypes
Stereotypes are present in all spheres of modern life. Often we are so used to them, that we do not even consider them as stereotypes, including statements that only girls wear pink for example, or that men don`t cry, and those who do are not “real” man. We are exposed to stereotypes since early age throughout our life, and they are pasted from one generation to another.
One of the causes of violence is gender-based stereotypes.
